Manzara

Food was absolutely delicious, especially the Obanzai. From this menu we ordered duck, pork and Wagyu beef and all three were absolutely delicious. the beef yakitori skewers were delicious as well. Atmosphere was very fun, staff were incredibly friendly. We sat at the bar and had the pleasure of watching the chef cook the yakitori for us which was also delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant by the river edge. Lived up to my expectations after strolling past it the night before!

I had the pleasure of dining at Manzara Donguribashi during my trip to Kyoto this March, and it was an experience I will never forget. The location of the restaurant is simply stunning, right beside the Kamo River and at the Donguri Bridge. The view of the river was breathtaking and added to the ambiance of the restaurant. We ordered an assortment of dishes including Sashimi, Fried octopus, and Grilled chicken. The sashimi was fresh and perfectly sliced, and the flavors of the various types of fish were well-balanced. The Fried octopus was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the Grilled chicken was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful. The restaurant had a great selection of cocktails, which was perfect for enjoying the view of the river. We ordered a few drinks, and they were all expertly crafted and delicious. Even though the prices were on the high side, the quality of the food, drinks, and service made it worth it. The restaurant itself had a great atmosphere, with modern and stylish decor and a cozy, intimate vibe. The staff was also very friendly and attentive, making sure that our dining experience was enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend Manzara Donguribashi for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Kyoto. The stunning location, delicious food, and great cocktails make it a must-visit destination for foodies and travelers alike.

We blew in after a long day on our feet and were sooo pleasantly surprised. We copied the locals and ordered bits and pieces that caught our eye and loved it. Highlights were the duck and pork Obanzai, beef skewers and the shumai dumplings. The cover charge of ¥600pp at least gets you edamame and a nice view of the water.
